Tunnel Monitoring Systems

TPA is a reliable and cost-optimized ultrasound flow meter for road tunnels. According to current European tunnel guidelines, air flow meters must be installed in tunnels and underpasses with lengths of more than 200 meters.

Fire accidents in tunnels represent critical emergency situations, placing high demands on ventilation control. In these cases, and for standard operation, precise air flow measurement of vital importance for safety.

J.con TPA is capable of measuring flow over the entire tunnel cross-section. It can perform cross-tunnel measurements with sensors on both walls or operate in a reflection mode with sensors on only one side.

J.con THU is a precision measuring device housed in a robust IP67 enclosure, specifically designed for humidity and temperature measurement in road tunnels. It provides critical data for accurate dew point calculation.

A primary hazard in tunnels is the sudden fogging of windscreens or visors upon entry, caused by rapid condensation of humid tunnel air on cooled surfaces. THU detects these critical conditions, enabling operators to initiate countermeasures immediately.

By combining multiple THU devices with our optional evaluation unit, the system calculates fogging probability through extended atmospheric analysis. These data interface directly with ventilation control systems for automated risk mitigation.
